Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant will assist the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, and oral hygiene
- Assist with specimen collection and testing, positioning and ambulating patients, and changing linens
- Accurately take and record weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen saturation
- Report unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients
- Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies, and assure patients get to appointments on time
- Clean, set up, and maintain rooms and equipment, and order and stock supplies
- Accurately document tasks performed on appropriate forms
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
- One or more of the following: successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program, six months of recent direct care experience, current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
