Nursing Assistant

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a 60-hour per two weeks position on the Night shift, with 12 hour shifts, every third weekend, and eligibility for benefits such as medical, dental, and more.
Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant will assist the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patients and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies. This role requires a strong focus on patient-centered care and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care by performing routine duties, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care needs, and oral hygiene.
- Assist the nurse in monitoring patient condition, accurately taking and recording weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen saturation.
- Place patients on/off monitors or equipment, report unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner, and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.
- Orient patients and their families to the environment, assure patients' belongings are accounted for, and transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies.
- Clean, set up, and maintain rooms and equipment, order and stock supplies, and accurately document tasks performed on appropriate forms.
Required qualifications include Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification, and one or more of the following: successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program, six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting, current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
