Nursing Assistant

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a 48-hour per two weeks position on the Evening shift, with opportunities for benefits and career growth.
Responsibilities- Assist professional nurses in delivering patient care, including transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies.
- Provide basic patient care, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, and positioning.
- Accurately take and record patient vital signs, including weight, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen saturation.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients, including orienting patients and their families to the environment and ensuring their belongings are accounted for.
- Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies, and use transfer belts when assisting patients with transfers and/or ambulation.
- Clean, set up, and maintain rooms and equipment, and accurately document tasks performed on appropriate forms.
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
- One or more of the following: successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program, six months of recent direct care experience, current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
