The Healthcare Onboarding Consultant serves as the primary point of contact for new providers and internal departments, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and timely onboarding experience for medical group providers. A high level of critical thinking, problem-solving, and foresight is essential to guarantee that a provider candidate adheres to the hiring timeline.

Key Responsibilities

The Healthcare Onboarding Consultant provides extensive technical support for recruitment efforts in collaboration with Provider Recruiters and organizational leadership. The individual must consistently demonstrate high standards of professional communication, courtesy, performance, and interpersonal skills. As a liaison between Physician and Advanced Practitioner candidates and the organization, the Healthcare Onboarding Consultant will foster and maintain positive relationships with medical professionals, leadership, and community contacts related to recruitment and retention.

The primary responsibilities include:


• Developing and sustaining a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system and regional communities to assist with candidate inquiries.


• Collaborating with Provider Recruiters to facilitate the planning, scheduling, and execution of site visits for provider candidates and their significant others. This includes acting as a liaison among candidates, recruiters, and operations to establish site visit dates, arrange travel, lodging, meals, community tours, and other necessary logistics, as well as managing itineraries.


• Assisting candidates with reimbursement processes for incidental expenses incurred during the recruitment process.


• Supporting new providers with relocation efforts and vendor account setups as needed.


• Tracking and processing departmental costs associated with recruitment efforts and assisting with budget reporting as required.


• Acting as the primary contact for all departments involved in the credentialing and onboarding of new providers, providing assistance with documentation necessary for state licensure, credentialing, and privileging processes.


• Assisting Provider Recruiters with preliminary verification processes, including references, background checks, licensure, and board certification.


• Continuously improving processes, procedures, and policies related to provider recruitment.


• Maintaining knowledge of relevant federal and state laws and guidelines.


• Participating in additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to enhance physician recruitment and retention.

This position does not involve direct patient care.

Qualifications

Education:

Must possess a working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, legal secretarial, or executive administrative support is preferred. Experience in physician services, provider relations, contracts, recruitment, credentialing, medical staff, or human resources is advantageous.

License(s):

A valid driver's license and the ability to meet organizational criteria upon hire.

Certification(s):

Certification in Onboarding and Retention from a recognized association is required within the first two years of employment.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, is essential, along with the ability to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies.
