The Sustainability Manager plays a critical role in implementing sustainability programming and initiatives to advance the university's sustainability goals and climate action plan.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead engagement programming to create cultures of sustainability on campus.
- Collaborate with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students to develop successful programs and improve environmental impacts.
- Serve as the primary liaison to students and student organizations for the Office of Sustainability.
- Stay up-to-date with current best practices in engagement programming and communications for sustainability in higher education.
- Support sustainability data collection and analysis for university sustainability reporting tasks.
- Great computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience developing and leading engagement programming.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative to resolve problems.
- Experience working with diverse populations and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience with event and volunteer management.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, and influence others to promote sustainability.
- Ability to work flexible hours and days as required by projects or tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of related experience.
- OR High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 9 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
