Job Summary

As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer at SWRI, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and development of high-reliability electronics hardware for space applications. This includes defining requirements, writing specifications, performing analysis, and implementing designs from concept to hardware. You will also lead and work with a team of engineers to interface with customers, compile and present data to justify design, and develop hardware solutions for various spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of electronics hardware for high-reliability applications
  • Define requirements and write specifications for electronics hardware
  • Perform analysis and implement designs from concept to hardware
  • Lead and work with a team of engineers to interface with customers and develop hardware solutions
  • Compile and present data to justify design and technical performance
  • Develop hardware solutions for various spacecraft systems
  • Support simulation, analysis, and test of hardware to verify technical performance
  • Provide input to software and FPGA designs
  • Lead and support proposals for space electronics
  • Complete documentation efforts associated with hardware designs, including specifications, user manuals, and test plans
  • Identify and lead internal research and development efforts
  • Mentor lower-level hardware developers and identify training opportunities for entry-level staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5 years of experience leading development of hardware for high-reliability applications
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of engineers through electrical hardware projects meeting cost, technical, and schedule constraints
  • Valid/clear driver's license

Salary Range

$95,930-$179,109
