Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide exceptional clinical and administrative support, ensuring a positive patient experience and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Tasks: You will be responsible for preparing patients for office visits, collecting and documenting patient data, and performing various clinical procedures under the supervision of a clinician. This will include tasks such as vital sign collection, medication administration, and wound care.
  2. Clinical Procedures: You will assist clinicians with diagnostic tests, therapies, and procedures, ensuring that all tasks are performed competently and safely. This will include tasks such as screening tests, diagnostic tests, and minor surgical procedures.
  3. Practice Management Activities: You will provide administrative support to clinicians, including scheduling appointments, responding to patient messages, and completing follow-up duties on patient plans of care.
  4. Teamwork, Leadership, and Professional Development: You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve departmental and regional quality and service goals. This will include participating in team meetings, assisting with onboarding new hires, and completing annual competency assessments.

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington)
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
  • Current National Medical Assistant Certification
  • Documented trainings in assigned departments clinical area within the last one to three years
