Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant/Project Cost Accountant who will play a pivotal role in optimizing our cost accounting practices and enhancing financial precision. This position entails managing accurate cost allocations for projects, analyzing financial data, overseeing project expenditures, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and precise completion of daily and monthly closing activities related to inventory and associated reserves, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee comprehensive inventory processes, including costing and valuation assessments.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Costing methodologies.
  • Evaluate and adjust Landed Cost calculations.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Accounts Payable and Operations, to guarantee accurate inventory data and cost distribution.
  • Manage the inventory cycle count program effectively.
  • Work alongside the Corporate Controller to manage reserves and handle excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitor daily inventory accounting reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Safeguard inventory integrity by establishing and enforcing internal controls.
  • Track project costs, including incurred expenses and accruals.
  • Assist in financial audits and recommend procedural enhancements to align with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Support the implementation of additional financial modules, particularly in inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting position, particularly in inventory and job costing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with GAAP and relevant accounting software, such as NetSuite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it pertains to manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
