Job Title: Field Operations Specialist

Boston Government Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Field Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support to the Federal Project Director and the Department of Energy Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center (EMCBC) New York site.

Job Summary

The Field Operations Specialist will be responsible for evaluating the operating contractor's construction and operational activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, laws, and regulations. This includes monitoring, observing, and assessing operating conditions, as well as supporting the DOE Team in problem identification, analysis, resolution, and tracking.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site support to evaluate the operating contractor's construction and operational activities.
  • Conduct daily on-site performance evaluations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, laws, and regulations.
  • Support the DOE Team in problem identification, analysis, resolution, and tracking.
  • Manage and ensure the timely completion of projects, including establishing technical requirements, defining project deliverables, schedules, and communicating risks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in the environmental/regulatory arena.
  • DOE nuclear facility management experience.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 1-2 year contract (possibility of extension).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DOE environmental project experience.
  • Knowledge of DOE, Federal, and State environmental regulations.
  • Facility Representation certification.
  • Experience with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and/or Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) closure processes.
  • Experience with contaminated waste disposal.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and effectively delegate and oversee client support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit documents, plans, procedures, and proposals.
  • Able to read and interpret structural, utility, and electrical as-built drawings.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret policy documentation and regulations.
  • Ability to meet the requirements for a DOE security clearance.
  • Knowledge of work practices in radiologically contaminated areas is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of D&D work activities (i.e., utility isolations, characterization, asbestos and regulated waste abatement, piping and equipment removal/size reduction, heavy component rigging and removal, decontamination/application of fixatives, structure demolition, slab removal, waste packaging and shipping).
  • Knowledge of D&D project sequencing, and execution time required.
  • Knowledge of the labor skills necessary to accomplish D&D activities.
Location/Work Arrangement
  • This position is onsite located in DOE EMCBC NY site (Niskayuna, NY).

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $144,000 and $154,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
