About the Role

Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Child and Family Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Wraparound Services team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional support to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Core Practice Model Elements: Communicate with team members, make assignments, and document work in the clinical record.
  • Develop and Evaluate Child and Family Plans: Conduct strengths chats, collect educational information, and aid with DMH paperwork and progress note review.
  • Engage with Families: Provide concrete services, including educational support, transportation, parenting assistance, and recreational activities.
  • Participate in Wraparound Training and Consultation: Stay up-to-date on best practices and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Mentor and Orient New Staff: Provide field-based observation and support during the onboarding process.
  • Manage Staff Assignments and Availability: Maintain a schedule of CFS staff assignments and weekend calendar.
  • Assist with Respite Placements and Resource Coordination: Help families access necessary resources and support.
  • Participate in 24-Hour On-Call System: Be available to provide support and guidance to families and staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree preferred or Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in IFCCS, Wraparound, or similar programs.
  • Experience: Five years of experience working with special needs children and their families.
  • Skills: Engaging and working with parents as partners, working with diverse ethnic and cultural groups, crisis management, and valid CA driver's license.
