Responsibilities:
Youth Support Specialists are responsible for supervising and engaging with youth. Key responsibilities include creating a safe and constructive atmosphere conducive to personal growth. Specialists will teach, mentor, counsel, serve as positive role models, and respond to crises using effective interventions, professional relationships, and therapeutic skills. Duties also involve administering medications, documenting and reporting behaviors through computer systems, ensuring compliance with agency and licensing standards, and assisting with physical interventions when necessary. Staff may work on the main campus or in community-based residential settings.
Work Schedule:
Evening and Weekend Availability Required.
Note: Shift hours may vary slightly based on location, with reasonable notice provided.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous (and required for senior roles). Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage with youth, exercise sound judgment, maintain a positive demeanor, and de-escalate challenging behaviors. Punctuality, adherence to instructions, and sound decision-making are essential. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be proficient in English. Basic computer skills are necessary for accessing emails and learning company tracking systems. All candidates must pass background checks, physical assessments (including functional abilities and drug screenings), and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurance provider.
