Job Title: Quality Control Specialist
FLSA Status: Regular Full-Time

Compensation: $18.50/hr

Location: Hancock, MD

Position Summary

The Quality Control Specialist is tasked with performing visual inspections on products to ensure their quality and safety for consumers. This role involves tracking the weight of samples and documenting the specific cultivar being examined. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for safely handling and segregating any compromised products identified during inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough visual assessments of cannabis for both organic and inorganic contaminants and defects.
  • Record inspection findings by completing reports and logs, and entering data into the quality management system.
  • Ensure that equipment (e.g., scales, tools) is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs), following cGMP SOPs, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is utilized and replaced as necessary.
  • Provide constructive feedback as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Open to coaching and eager to learn.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of maintaining focus and minimizing distractions.
  • Comfortable using digital scales.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fundamental math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must comply with all legal and company regulations pertaining to the cannabis industry.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move a minimum of 50 lbs to a height of at least 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Capability to work in seated or standing positions for extended periods, maintaining balance while climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to handle organic materials daily and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Visual acuity to perform tasks such as reading and inspecting small details.
  • Effective verbal communication skills in a moderate noise environment.

Compensation will be based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is offered with this position. This role typically requires an average of 40 hours per week, with availability for after-hours work in case of emergencies.
