Job Summary:

The Executive Culinary Artist at Caribe Royale is a highly skilled and professional individual responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences. This role requires excellent culinary knowledge, creativity, and leadership skills to maintain the highest standards of quality in the kitchen.

About the Job:

  • We are seeking an experienced Cook 3 with a strong background in culinary arts and excellent communication skills to join our team as an Executive Culinary Artist.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various cooking techniques, including knife cutting, garnishing, and sauce preparation.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely production of high-quality dishes that meet our guests' expectations.
  • This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and multitask effectively.

Responsibilities:

Cooking Techniques:
  • Expertise in preparing various cuts of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables using different cooking methods.
  • Proficient in making sauces, soups, and other menu items according to established recipes.
  • Able to identify and prepare secondary sauces, such as Mornay and Normande.
Kitchen Management:
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in clean and organized condition.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and manage inventory efficiently.
Safety and Quality Control:
  • Awareness of food safety guidelines and critical control temperatures.
  • Adherence to OSHA practices and wearing PPE as needed.
  • Continuous monitoring of kitchen operations to ensure quality and consistency.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of culinary experience or a relevant certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (second language a plus).
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
