ROLE SUMMARY:

The Bilingual Partnership Manager is tasked with overseeing and directing all aspects of PENCIL Partnerships and related volunteer initiatives within a specific set of Metro Nashville Public Schools. A key responsibility is to onboard new community partners and volunteers while maintaining effective relationships with existing stakeholders (businesses, volunteers, donors, organizations, etc.) and school personnel.

This role is vital in achieving the goals outlined in PENCIL's strategic plan, necessitating a diverse skill set and the ability to manage multiple high-level relationships concurrently.

The primary objective of the Bilingual Partnership Manager is to facilitate productive engagement between business and civic partners and MNPS, thereby enhancing student academic performance while supporting school staff and strategic objectives.

Communication in Spanish, both verbally and in writing, will be essential for interacting with students, families, and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Act as the main account manager for PENCIL Partnerships; ensure all partners navigate the PENCIL Partner Continuum effectively; maintain regular contact with partners to provide support.
  2. Establish strong working relationships with MNPS administrators, school leaders, and staff through ongoing communication and collaborative projects; ensure alignment between PENCIL and MNPS leadership and strategic initiatives.
  3. Document all activities in the designated customer relationship management system in a timely and accurate manner to maintain an up-to-date overview of partnerships.
  4. Support the use of PENCIL's virtual tools and encourage stakeholders to engage with these resources.
  5. Identify and pursue potential partnership opportunities based on the needs of your assigned schools.
  6. Assist with PENCIL's initiatives by organizing volunteer projects and participating in events throughout the year.
  7. Collaborate with PENCIL's marketing team to ensure partners receive appropriate information and recognition.
  8. Participate in networking events and professional development opportunities to promote PENCIL and recruit partners.
  9. Support the Development Team with grant applications and reporting as needed.
  10. Represent PENCIL at stakeholder meetings and community events.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • SKILLS:
    • Proficiency in Spanish is required.
    • Ability to manage multiple high-level relationships effectively.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interpret non-verbal cues.
    • Intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual communication tools.
    • Comfortable and confident in various social settings.
    • Ability to work independently while being an active team member.
    • Strong conflict resolution abilities.
    • Effective problem-solving skills and goal-setting capabilities.
    • Organized with thorough documentation practices.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years in volunteer management, customer relations, public education, nonprofit development, community engagement, or account management. Experience with school leadership preferred.
  • CONFIDENTIALITY: Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to travel or connect virtually with schools and partners regularly; reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Moderate physical activity is required for administrative tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
  • Employee may need to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
