Job Overview

Position Summary

PeaceHealth is looking for an Environmental Services Specialist II for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The general salary range for this role at PeaceHealth is $29.28. The actual hiring rate is influenced by various factors, including job responsibilities, location, applicable collective bargaining agreements, education, training, work experience, seniority, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

This role is primarily focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in patient care areas, which includes floor maintenance, thorough cleaning, intensive scrubbing, window cleaning, waste disposal, and some outdoor area upkeep. Additionally, this position may involve performing the tasks of an Environmental Services Attendant I as required.

Core Duties
  • Adheres to a floor cleaning schedule and conducts daily assessments of floor conditions.
  • Responsible for window washing, trash removal both indoors and outdoors, litter and debris collection, and dusting of elevated and hard-to-reach areas.
  • May undertake duties of Environmental Services Attendant I as assigned.
  • Completes other tasks as directed.
Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma Preferred or equivalent.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year Required: Formal experience in housekeeping/environmental services/custodial work.
  • Preferred: Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment.
Credentials
  • Driver's License may be required.
Skills
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (Required).
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision (Required).
  • Familiarity with industrial vacuum cleaners, rotary floor care machines, carpet extractors, and power head equipment (Required).
  • Strong customer service skills (Required).
  • Basic computer skills (Required).
Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements
  • Continuous movement around the area.
  • Frequent simple grasping.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling: 36 lbs. initial force, 26 lbs. sustained force.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Lifting: Frequent 10 lbs.-25 lbs., Seldom 26 lbs.-50 lbs.
  • Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional squatting and kneeling.
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazards, bodily fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Mental/Visual Requirements
  • Vision and hearing must be within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
