Psychiatric Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Amedisys, a leading provider of home health, hospice, and high-acuity care. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial nursing evaluations to identify behavioral health and psychiatric needs.
- Monitor patients' physical and mental status for complications and medication side effects.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to address patients' unique needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their caregivers on disease processes, medication regimes, and safety interventions.
- Administer medications, perform lab draws, and collect specimens as needed.
- Act as a case manager to coordinate care for patients and their families.
- Document patient progress and communicate with the clinical team to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state(s) you are assigned to work.
- Experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting within the last three to five years.
- CPR certification and valid driver's license.
