Job Summary

As a Payroll Manager, you will lead multi-state payroll operations for a high-growth organization. This role involves overseeing payroll for a large workforce, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage laws, and conducting audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payrolls for 1500-2500 employees across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state wage laws.
  • Accurately upload hours from POS and back-office systems.
  • Advise managers on Payroll/HRIS processes, including time reporting and benefits.
  • Manage payroll processes for leaves, rehires, wage adjustments, and terminations.
  • Maintain audit reports and handle year-end payroll tasks (W-2/1099 reporting).
  • Handle employment verifications, garnishments, and compliance filings (EEO, 5500, IRS).
  • Oversee third-party payroll vendors and recommend system improvements.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of payroll management experience, including multi-state and high-volume payrolls.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems and ACA compliance.
  • Retail or QSR payroll experience is a plus.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word; accounting degree and UKG Ready experience a plus.
