Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Airfield Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Wayne County Airport Authority. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including MIOSHA, Department of Transportation, and FAA rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the Airport Authority's Safety Program to maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Perform minimum standards audits and inspections for the Airport Authority.
  • Develop performance criteria for measurement of compliance within the minimum standards.
  • Provide recommendations to resolve non-compliant concerns.
  • Support the department in alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Develop and oversee a system for uniform handling of such violations.
  • Support the WCAA Safety Management-System (SMS) development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate the removal of physical or chemical hazards from the workplace.
  • Analyze the organization's operational safety performance against the safety goals and objectives.
  • Develop risk mitigation action plans to ensure corrective action is being taken in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the WCAA quality assurance processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Aviation Management, Health and Safety, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.
  • 5 or more years of full-time progressively responsible 14CFR Part 139 management experience.
  • Proficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation).
  • WCAA Airfield Certification (Movement and Non-Movement Area) - within probationary period.
  • Valid Driver's License and safe, acceptable driving record.
