The Overnight Housekeeping Manager position is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and direction of the evening operation of the Housekeeping department at The Greenbrier Hotel. This role works closely with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper to manage priorities, establish, and implement standard operating procedures. The Overnight Housekeeping Manager is also responsible for adhering to the budget and promoting a safe environment for team members, residents, and guests.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and supervise the activities of the evening housekeeping personnel to ensure the smooth flow of housekeeping operations.
- Ensure that housekeeping staff follows established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
- Enforce all company and departmental policies and procedures using performance reviews, coaching, and positive feedback.
- Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of housekeeping areas, and perform regular inspections of public areas and rooms for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Maintain par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen, and uniform.
- Promote positive customer service by assisting guests in addressing their complaints and resolving their problems.
- Continually inspect team members' assigned areas and turndown, ensuring that check sheets are turned in on the rooms.
- Report maintenance issues of rooms and public areas.
- Ensure guests are attended to in a prompt, efficient, and personalized manner.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members and purveyors to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintain a professional standard at The Greenbrier Hotel, including appearance, verbal discussions, written correspondence, and interactions with members, team members, and guests.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisor position.
- Hospitality or business-related degree or equivalent experience in a property of similar caliber.
- Experience managing a union workforce is preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of OSHA standards and application for working with chemicals.
- Good communication skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Ability to function and be flexible in a changing environment.
- Demonstrates safe work habits.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Willingness to work and be a part of a team is essential.
- Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
