As a Medical Equipment Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and setting up medical equipment at patient locations, educating patients and caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of the equipment, and resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver and Set Up Medical Equipment: Safely transport and deliver medical equipment to patient locations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of medical equipment, providing clear instructions and demonstrations.
- Equipment Problem Resolution: Resolve customer equipment problems under emergency conditions, working closely with patients and caregivers to resolve issues.
- Quality Improvement: Assist in implementing quality improvement programs to meet company and regulatory standards.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues as needed.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain company vehicles in a clean and safe working condition, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Documentation: Complete written patient visit reports and shipping papers as required, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain working knowledge of current medical equipment products and services offered by the company, as well as applicable governmental regulations.
- Reimbursement Knowledge: Develop basic reimbursement knowledge, documenting all information accurately and completely.
- Technical Knowledge: Develop technical knowledge of medical equipment and respiratory products, as appropriate.
- Territory Management: Manage territory to reach service goals, delivering equipment and oxygen as required in accordance with industry standards and applicable federal, state, and local governmental regulations.
- Background Investigation: Pass a background investigation.
- Drug Screen: Pass a drug screen.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma: Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Medical Equipment Experience: Preferably have experience with medical equipment.
- Related Work Experience: Preferably have one year of related work experience.
- Medical Terminology: Preferably have knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective Communication: Effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Loading and Unloading: Successfully demonstrate loading, unloading, and proper tie-down procedures for transported cargo.
- Home Respiratory Equipment: Understand the use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies.
- Lifting and Carrying: Lift and carry office equipment at times.
- Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of the job, including sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening, as well as close vision to small print on computers and paperwork.
- Lifting and Transporting: Lift and transport patient equipment, with a minimum weight of 65 pounds.
- Contagious Pathogens: Be exposed to contagious pathogens while interacting with patients and equipment.
- Driving: Drive a company vehicle for the majority of the workday.
- Respiratory Protection: Comply with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy, including annual recertification.
- Face-Shaving: Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 Mask face-seal protection, per OSHA guidelines.
