We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Controls System Validation and Root Cause Engineer to spearhead the validation efforts for HVAC software within automotive vehicle programs. This role focuses on Automatic Temperature Control, Manual Temperature Control, and the overall logic governing climate control comfort.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement comprehensive HVAC controls validation and testing strategies.
  • Document and analyze issues encountered, ensuring follow-up testing verifies corrective measures.
  • Facilitate the sharing of insights and lessons learned across global validation teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within validation processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution for systemic and interface issues at assembly plants, including the establishment of diagnostic trouble codes and addressing HVAC quality concerns related to controls logic, calibrations, or CAN communication.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded controls hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation or vehicle-level validation of ECUs for functional performance and CAN/LIN bus communications.
  • Knowledge of CAN/LIN bus systems and circuit analysis.
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink/Statflow and/or Vector CANoe, CANape, or CAPL scripting.
  • Ability to diagnose HVAC control issues in both development and production phases.
  • Strong understanding of Microcontrollers and ECU hardware design, along with familiarity with BUS tools, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), control plans, and agile software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with proactive quality tools (Design for Six Sigma) and reactive quality tools (Kepner-Tregoe / Shainin).
