Job Summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Leader to serve as the Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Human Resources for the Biological Sciences Division. This key leadership role will oversee and manage all operational aspects of human resources within the division, ensuring compliance with University policies and practices.

The successful candidate will possess a unique set of skills, including the ability to build coalitions, ensure compliance, and drive performance and HR transformation to meet the diverse needs of the division. They will work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure a positive and productive work environment for staff employees.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Dean and Executive Director of BSD Human Resources will serve as the executive lead for this vital team and act as the BSD's liaison to the larger University, helping ensure efficient and effective operations. They will help set the strategic vision for this office and develop new and innovative ways to support our departments and faculty.

The successful candidate must be able to perform a wide range of HR duties, including strategic planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational effectiveness, change and performance management, leadership coaching, and communication.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with experience in strategic planning, employee relations, and talent acquisition. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build coalitions and drive performance and HR transformation. A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred.
