Minn Care Home Health is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Brooklyn Center, MN. This role involves providing direct client care to adults with developmental and mental disabilities, as well as those in need of medical care after hospital discharge.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be fluent in English, and possess good communication skills. Additionally, they must be reliable, compassionate, and empathetic towards clients.

The Direct Support Professional will be responsible for assisting clients with personal care, including dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, transferring, positioning, and mobility. They will also be responsible for housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, monitoring and redirecting client behaviors, and arranging client transportation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting clients with personal care, including dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, transferring, positioning, and mobility.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks, including cleaning living areas, making beds, doing laundry, and taking out the garbage.
  • Monitoring and redirecting client behaviors to ensure their safety.
  • Meal planning and preparation.
  • Ordering, administering, and monitoring medications.
  • Arranging client transportation.
  • Assisting clients in getting around and participating in the community.
  • Assisting clients in managing their finances.

Requirements include:

  • Passing the Department of Human Services background check.
  • Being reliable and having a strong work ethic.
  • Being fluent in English and having good communication skills.
  • Showing compassion and empathy towards clients.
  • Having a driver's license.
