Job Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in a Telehealth role. As a Telehealth LPN, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient primary care and specialty care clinics, procedural areas, and in the home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe physical and emotional care to patients, working under the direction and guidance of the RN or Provider.
  • Perform telehealth imaging, including tele-retinal screening, tele-dermatology, tele-wound care imaging, and other telehealth programming as technology becomes available.
  • Provide nursing care to patients, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, completing clinical reminders, documenting medication review, and performing various procedures.
  • Assist RN and/or Provider with special procedures, preparing patients, participating in time-out procedures, securing clean/sterile supplies/equipment, and assisting with collecting and labeling specimens.
  • Customize patient education to patients and family members, identifying learning needs and providing effective education.
  • Document collected data or current observations in electronic medical records.
  • Assist in the coordination of patient care activities with other departments, services, and facilities.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
  • Full, active, current, and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with RNs and Providers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate patients and family members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
