At Great Wolf Lodge, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Housekeeping Operations to lead our Housekeeping and Laundry department. This senior-level position is responsible for directing all aspects of housekeeping services and programming, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Create and execute comprehensive plans to support organizational objectives, allocating resources and time effectively.
  • Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry department, including cleaning public areas and guest rooms.
  • Supervise Team Members: Supervise Laundry pack members and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Participate in cross-functional teams to coordinate resort activities.
  • Monitor Guest Feedback: Monitor and respond to guest comments, addressing operational resolutions.
  • Develop Schedules: Develop and implement schedules for the housekeeping operation, managing staffing to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage Inventory: Manage room expeditor software program (REX) to maintain maximum efficiency of inventory management.
  • Participate in Manager-On-Duty Program: Participate in the Manager-On-Duty (MOD) program and execute duties.
  • Recruit and Train Team Members: Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate team member performance.
  • Develop Staff Training Programs: Plan and implement staff training and development programs.
  • Monitor Quality Assurance: Monitor quality assurance programs for the lodge.
  • Review Reports: Review accuracy of nightly housekeeping reports and investigate discrepancies.
  • Represent Housekeeping Function: Serve on the resort Executive Committee to represent the interests of the housekeeping function.
  • Enforce Policies and Procedures: Enforce policies and procedures, maintaining a working knowledge of general and departmental safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical Skills: Experience creating and maintaining documents with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience supervising/managing large housekeeping department.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years hotel or resort experience.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Education: College Degree.
  • Conflict Resolution: Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict.
  • Analysis and Planning: Committed to comprehensive and in-depth analysis, planning, and implementation of every work effort.
  • Public Relations: Projects a positive public relations image to team members and guests.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate diverse groups to achieve extraordinary goals and overcome challenges.
  • Management Skills: Excellent management skills including conflict resolution, coaching, development, and teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting and Standing: Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting: Lift up to 15 lbs.
