Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Operations Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of fire protection professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing leadership in achieving health and safety goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily/weekly schedules and operating priorities for assigned team, minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor labor reports and ensure that team is producing at or above communicated production, quality, and safety goals.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC, safety, environmental, cost of operations goals, and other performance and P&L metrics.
- Provide leadership in achieving health and safety goals, proactively identifying safety and environmental issues, and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Company, and client standards.
- Maintain adequate and accurate inventory and daily status report to sustain state of readiness of tools and equipment.
- Assist in conducting periodic audits of repair parts, rental, and equipment inventories, and submit purchase requests for equipment and supplies to support service and repair operation.
- Work with Sales, Customer Service, and other internal departments to communicate and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Ensure that all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair is completed promptly and accurately.
- Complete required reports and communication in a timely manner.
- Partner with human resources for hiring and firing, performance evaluation, salary and job change actions, and coach and counsel team members.
- Ensure that all personnel receive safety and procedure training, and coach team to improve technical skills and interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- Plan and oversee a preventive maintenance program, ensuring that equipment and other accessories are properly maintained and in top working condition.
- Develop procedures for assigned operation, assist with establishing work standards for assigned area, and assist with planning and implementing both short and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist with special projects as assigned, and may occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery, or related industry, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance, with a safe driving record and ability to be insurable for company vehicle insurance.
- Willingness to travel to customers' sites and availability for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects.
- Ability to obtain TWIC card and other safety-related badges/certifications as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of company products and services in assigned area, with State Fire Marshal licenses for appropriate areas of service and NICET level II certification in the appropriate area(s).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and other database software, with ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, safety and health, and company policies and procedures.
- High ethical standards, demonstrated by approach to business.
- Leadership and ability to coordinate resources to achieve maximum profitability, efficiency, and utilization.
- Understanding and effective management of key financial issues that impact service and operations functions and the business.
- Experience with budget preparation and cost control.
- Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports.
- Proficiency in the care and use of all sites-specific, facility, and customer-required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Trained in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested).
- Ability to work and lead in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Working Environment
Combination of office, shop, indoor, and outdoor industrial environments, with frequent exposure to cold, hot, wet, humid, outside weather conditions, and vibration. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and traffic, with moderate noise level in the work environment.
Education Requirements
High School diploma or GED, with Associates degree in science or technical area strongly preferred.
