Job Summary:

The Family and Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage families and communities in our Head Start/Early Head Start program. This includes building relationships with families, providing support and resources, and facilitating community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement family engagement strategies to promote parent involvement and community participation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families, including conducting home visits, providing support and resources, and facilitating family meetings.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to provide resources and support to families.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of community resources and services available to families.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff on family engagement and community partnership strategies.
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation to ensure that family engagement and community partnership strategies are aligned with program goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience working with children and families in a social services environment.
  • Knowledge of family-centered practices and community partnership strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
