Summary:

We are in search of a reliable and efficient Class A truck operator who demonstrates considerable physical and mental endurance and prioritizes customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience are mandatory, as the primary responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers along established routes. Operators will handle loading and unloading tasks using pre-defined material handling equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend the operation and safe driving of commercial vehicles.
  • Utilize material handling equipment as necessary for deliveries.
  • Safely transport goods to designated locations.
  • Ensure cargo is securely loaded to prevent damage or injury.
  • Obtain signatures to verify and complete deliveries.
  • Adhere to a predetermined route for timely transport and delivery.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch as required.
  • Verify that shipment contents align with the manifest.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
  • Manage the movement and stacking of cargo as needed.
  • Report any significant maintenance or delivery issues to management.
  • Follow the delivery schedule and take breaks as necessary.
  • Use electronic logging devices to record hours of service.
  • Abide by company policies and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Comply with DOT regulations.
  • Prioritize safety at all times.
  • Possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of proven commercial truck driving experience.
  • Maintain a clean driving record with no moving violations.
  • Follow all traffic laws and adjust driving according to weather and road conditions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating large vehicles.
  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • Exhibit alertness, focus, and attention to detail.
  • Be capable of using hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Be proficient with GPS and routing systems.
  • Possess map reading and route planning skills.
  • Have a natural sense of direction.
  • Be a self-starter who works well independently.
  • Show discipline, dependability, and resourcefulness.
  • Maintain composure and manage stress effectively.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have a valid, current CDL with a valid DOT physical. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit, with the ability to lift 50-60 lbs. and possess stamina for long driving shifts.
