Multimedia Communications Specialist

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Multimedia Communications Specialist to join our team at CapMetro. This role is responsible for creating and implementing effective communication strategies that engage audiences and promote brand awareness.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute timely service alerts and detours through various messaging channels.
- Provide responsive support to events and incidents, collaborating with CapMetro staff to research and coordinate responses.
- Serve as the Marketing Department representative in the Operations Control Center.
- Create engaging social media content and post on relevant platforms.
- Contribute to agency projects and initiatives, including writing and updating communications plans.
- Offer communications support outside of regular business hours, including social media monitoring and alerts/detours messaging.
- Assist in emergency and crisis communications efforts during regular business hours and after hours on an on-call basis.
- Support special events such as news conferences, grand openings, and new service launches.
- Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, passing along pertinent information to Customer Care, Marketing, and Operations teams.
- Track and maintain archives of key messages and materials using Agency messaging tools.
- Coordinate communications activities with public relations and advertising agencies.
- Facilitate assignments for temp employees and staff interns.
- Act as team lead in supervisor's absence.
- Ensure compliance with Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Two years of progressive experience in journalism, public relations, internal communications strategies, or related experience.
- Proven writing and editing skills, covering a range of styles and formats.
