Job Title: Engineering Technician I

Vector Construction is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Technician I to join our team. As an Engineering Technician I, you will play a vital role in our mission to improve the durability of concrete structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct condition assessments and investigations of structures to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians and engineers in the field to collect data and conduct testing.
  • Utilize non-destructive testing methods such as ground penetrating radar, impact echo, corrosion potential, and others to gather information about the condition of structures.
  • Gather field measurements and accurately prepare field notes and other documentation.
  • Execute tasks promptly and professionally in compliance with Vector Construction and industry safety standards.
  • Adhere to Vector Construction's Quality Management Process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop by ensuring that tools are arranged neatly, cleaned, and kept in good condition.
  • Assist contractors with the technical elements of installing cathodic protection systems.
  • Provide support to Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers on various technical issues.
  • Work as a part of a team, communicating effectively and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Travel is an important aspect of our work. Travel is to be expected between 60%-80% of the time within the US.
  • Engineering technician degree or certificate from a community college or technical school.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in the following areas is preferred:
    • Civil/Structural Engineering.
    • Electronics and robotics skills.
    • AMPP / NACE Cathodic Protecting Technician (CP2) and/or NDT Level II Certifications.
    • General construction activities such as; Carpentry, electrician, forming and placing concrete, concrete demolition, etc.
  • VCS Engineering is a drug and alcohol-free workplace, any candidates selected for employment will be required to pass a drug screen.
