About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team at Amazon Data Services, Inc. in a key role that will oversee the management of a team of Technical Program Managers supporting AWS Global Brick and Position Delivery's data center scaling initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, with experience managing complex and large-scale technology projects, including cost, schedule, and performance for portfolios, programs, or individual projects. They will also have a proven track record of developing and improving processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the networking brick program's overall progress, anticipate risks, resolve issues, and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
  • Work with stakeholders, including networking engineers, technical program managers, and senior management, to define requirements and processes.
  • Manage individual contributor job performance, including regular one-on-one meetings and technical and soft-skill mentoring.
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects, negotiate trade-offs, and provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the program's execution and success, managing multiple competing projects simultaneously.
  • Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
  • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow-up.
  • Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvement and automated solutions.
  • Report ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly program and operating metrics, keeping the customer experience as the primary focus.
