Community Support Specialist

Bowery Residents Committee is a leading organization providing vital services to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.
As an Independent Living Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients as they reclaim their lives and achieve health and self-sufficiency. We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals who can provide exceptional support to our diverse client population.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, plus benefits, to our full-time employees. This position requires significant experience working with a homeless population who have a history of forensic, substance abuse, and psychiatric issues. Knowledge of HRA PACT Systems is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients regularly to discuss their progress and provide guidance on achieving independent living skills.
- Assist clients in obtaining documentation, escorting them to appointments, and securing entitlements.
- Facilitate groups within the program model under the direction of the Program Supervisor.
