Job Overview
This role supports Blue Cross NC's corporate pharmacy program through member-focused formulary design, sales team support, benefit plan creation, program development, and more. This department collaborates on innovative solutions with its pharmacy benefit manager Prime Therapeutics (Prime) and other strategic partners to deliver significant value through improved health outcomes, greater savings, and seamless member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master understanding of ASO pharmacy pricing concepts and strategies.
- Deliver comprehensive pharmacy support and expertise to the sales team.
- Develop pharmacy broker and consultant relationships specific to the pharmacy business.
- Collaborate closely with the PBM sales team to develop strategies, identify opportunities, and drive sales initiatives.
- Effectively communicate our pharmacy offerings.
- Support and manage development efforts related to the enhancement and maintenance of our current products and market offer components.
- Analyze and monitor industry, regulatory, technology, and market-based trends that affect our ability to maintain a competitive pharmacy offer.
- Present information from established relationships to help us compete effectively in the marketplace, including insights on how specific consultants evaluate RFP responses and value our pharmacy proposals.
- Collaborate with and support other departments across the enterprise on common initiatives and unique ventures, as directed.
- Support efforts for operational improvements with new analysis/reporting capabilities, project management techniques, and/or consulting/engagement approaches.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
- 3+ years of experience in a related field, or in lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- Local travel is expected in market areas within North Carolina as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with brokers and/or consultants in a healthcare or pharmacy environment.
Compensation:
$68, $109,100.00
