Director of Operations

Patagon Search is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Director of Operations to join our team in Downtown Miami. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our online platform in the insurance brokerage space.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical acumen, operational leadership, and exceptional communication skills. They will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing resources, and ensuring the seamless functioning of our core system and its supporting teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Lead and manage the operational aspects of our company's core platform, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of day-to-day operations.
  • Resource Allocation & Team Management: Plan and allocate resources to meet operational goals and deadlines, monitor team workload, and ensure the effective use of resources to drive financial success.
  • Operational Process Management: Develop, document, and implement operational policies, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Performance Management: Track and monitor employee and team performance, offering coaching, training, and feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Issue Resolution: Quickly identify and resolve operational exceptions, perform root cause analysis, and implement process improvements to avoid recurrence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Customer Service, Product, Partner Services, Compliance, and Finance teams to improve service quality and maintain consistent communication.
  • Quality Assurance & KPIs: Implement quality assurance measures for all core processes and use data analysis to optimize core operations processes and identify cost-saving and time-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: A quick learner with the ability to master complex digital platforms and experience as a system superuser.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail when overseeing processes, identifying operational exceptions, and verifying the work of others.
  • Numerical Acumen: Highly numerate with a solid understanding of financial processes and the ability to analyze operational data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
  • Process-Driven: Proficient in interpreting specification documents and turning them into detailed execution plans while identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Technical Skills: Strong skills in Excel and experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the health insurance or health services industry is highly preferred.
  • Time Management: Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams, dividing tasks, and ensuring project completion under time constraints.
  • Project Management: Commitment to seeing projects through from launch to post-launch monitoring, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and convey technical information clearly.

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of operations experience, preferably in a technology or health insurance setting, with experience in supervisory roles guiding junior team members and growing and developing teams. A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
