Position Overview:

This role is focused on providing engineering expertise for submarine maintenance and lifecycle support.

The selected candidate will be part of a dedicated engineering team, contributing to the Trident Refit Facility's mission by overseeing various projects related to Navy submarines. This full-time position involves ensuring the successful execution of program objectives, including budget management, strategic planning, and project scheduling for OHIO and COLUMBIA class submarines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Addressing engineering inquiries from the facility and associated commands.
  • Coordinating support from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Acting as a liaison between the facility and SMEs.
  • Identifying and planning future growth initiatives.
  • Performing some physical tasks as necessary.
  • Completing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Note: This position requires relocation.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in submarine construction, maintenance, or project management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with OHIO class submarines.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of engineering principles, technical documentation, military specifications, and vessel specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Willingness to relocate.
  • Internal candidates must be from non-Operations departments.

Preferred:

  • General understanding of design and engineering processes.
  • 5-10 years of experience in submarine overhaul and repair.
  • Experience in submarine or industrial project management.
  • Familiarity with submarine maintenance and modernization processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects.
  • Basic project planning and management skills.
  • Experience in government contracting.

  • Physical capability to navigate steep stairs, ladders, and confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to accept additional duties as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse personnel.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capability to manage multiple technical tasks while adhering to quality and schedule requirements.
  • Familiarity with submarine maintenance processes.
  • Comfort in identifying and pursuing business opportunities to support the facility's objectives.
  • Proficiency in Electric Boat systems and software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Understanding of submarine logistics products and special emphasis programs.

Physical Qualifications:
Ability to climb, lift light objects, reach, and stoop.

Environmental Attributes:
Exposure to varying temperatures and environments.
