Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team at General Dynamics Mission Systems. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various technical projects associated with our core mission, including designing, testing, and installation of electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to understand necessary interfaces.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting to component level.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
  • Lay out, build, calibrate, adjust, install, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
