Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer I to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of client-focused systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support for authentication, logging, monitoring, and alerting, including lifecycle management of end-user devices and virtualization platforms.
  • Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all operating systems and infrastructure systems' performance to identify, resolve, and communicate issues.
  • Packaging applications and making routine updates to packages when needed.
  • Handle the administration of Intune, Jamf, and device enrollment escalations from the Service Desk.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field desired; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of system administrator or engineer experience in an enterprise with increasing responsibilities.
  • Advanced skills with server operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows Server or Ubuntu.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Foundational understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and multiple OSes authenticating to AD.
  • Familiar with network protocols, internet standards, and client-server communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of system administrator or engineer experience in an enterprise with increasing responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting server/client operating systems.
  • 1+ years of experience building and supporting devices and packaging.
  • Advanced skills administering Microsoft Active Directory & Microsoft 365.
  • Must be familiar with App-V or other packaging solutions.
