Clinical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Geisinger Medical Laboratories. As a valued member of our laboratory services, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care through innovative and efficient laboratory testing.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for performing various tasks to provide accurate and reliable test results. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples, processing specimens for analysis, and utilizing computer systems to register patients and facilitate billing.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex medical procedures to patients in a clear and compassionate manner.
You will work closely with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth specimen accessioning and processing, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the testing process.

Responsibilities- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood samples according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines
- Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements
- Perform accessioning procedures accurately and efficiently to ensure positive identification of specimens
- Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability
- Resolve or refer problems as necessary
To be considered for this position, you must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. A valid driver's license and certification as a Phlebotomy Technician are also required.
