Phlebotomy Professional

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Geisinger Medical Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by collecting and processing specimens for testing.

This Phlebotomy position is responsible for performing venipunctures and skin punctures on patients in our inpatient setting. You will work independently to obtain blood specimens, process them for analysis, and utilize computer systems to register patients, facilitate billing, and perform overall specimen accessioning and processing.

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
• Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements.
• Accurately identify and process specimens for analysis.
• Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability.
• Resolves or refers problems as appropriate.
• Perform Point of Care instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year of related work experience and a valid driver's license. Additionally, certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) is required.

Geisinger offers a competitive salary, starting at $45,000 per year, plus benefits including a 401(k) plan with an automatic 5% employer contribution starting day one of employment.
