About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Accounting Electronic Billing Coordinator to join our team at Skadden Arps. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Firm's electronic billing processes, including setup, transmission, and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare electronic bills in LEDES format using Aderant Expert.
  • Submit timekeepers and rates for approval as needed.
  • Interact with billing personnel to ensure e-bills are prepared in accordance with Outside Counsel Guidelines.
  • Transmit electronic bills to clients via third-party websites or via other means as requested by clients.
  • Monitor the status of invoices submitted, identify issues, and work with billing and collection personnel to resolve discrepancies and rejections.
  • Verify transmission of e-bills and maintain related documentation.
  • Resolve issues arising from transmitted bills (rejections, deductions, appeals), coordinating with the Client Accounting Assistants and Coordinators, partners, and clients as necessary.
  • Coordinate and submit accruals and budgets to clients.
  • Respond to email and telephone inquiries from clients, electronic billing vendors, partners, and other Client Accounting staff regarding various aspects of electronic billing using effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ADERANT Expert or similar legal-industry time and billing suites.
  • Familiarity with various electronic billing vendor websites.
  • Familiarity with legal industry-standard LEDES 1998B, LEDES 1998BI, and LEDES XML E-billing versions 2/2.1 electronic billing formats, including ability to manually edit as needed.
  • Technical knowledge or desire and ability to learn new technical skills.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years related experience in a professional services environment.
