Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing financial and tax reporting to the parent organization while ensuring adherence to all control measures. This includes managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the management of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax obligations.
- Conduct and review account reconciliations to maintain an accurate General Ledger for precise financial reporting.
- Oversee the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely financial data submission to HFM (Hyperion Financial Management).
- Administer sales and use tax reporting, as well as local income tax processes, in collaboration with corporate tax departments.
- Lead compliance testing for SOX, manage Internal and External Audits, and perform Internal Balance Sheet Reviews to ensure that internal controls are effectively implemented and followed.
- Assist in the monthly forecasting process and ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.
- Manage various systems, including banking, expense reporting, freight, and credit card processing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
- 2-3 years of experience in a public accounting firm or publicly traded company.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications and preparing reports for diverse audiences.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel are required.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
- Capable of employing logical or scientific reasoning to tackle a variety of intellectual and practical challenges.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with accounting software, database management, internet applications, spreadsheet tools, and word processing software.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to use hands for various tasks, communicate verbally, walk, sit, reach, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is between $100K and $120K annually, with actual compensation determined by relevant experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
