Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze pressure vessels and shapes to accommodate vehicle space allocation and integration envelope.
  • Develop and implement fluid lines and flex elements for cryogenic and space applications.
  • Generate drawings, including tolerance and GD&T setup.
  • Own the design release cycle, including drawings release and DFM reviews.
  • Analyze primary and secondary spacecraft pressure vessels.
  • Integrate structural analysis with loads and dynamics environments.
  • Develop and refine finite element models, validate and correlate to tests.
  • Perform strength checks and generate analysis reports.
  • Develop and implement test and verification plans and reports.
  • Support configuration development and trade studies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in structural dynamics and loads, finite element modeling, and structural analysis.
  • Strong foundation in structural static and dynamic fundamentals.
  • Passion for spacecraft structural and environmental loads development and validation.
  • Ability to solve complex structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • COPV pressure vessel design and analysis.
  • Metallic pressure vessel design and analysis.
  • Fluids lines design and analysis.
  • Flex elements design and analysis.
  • Composite design and analysis skills.
  • Manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization, and allowable development.
  • Experience testing materials, joints, components, and vehicles.
  • Structural optimization using industry codes.
  • Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4/Creo Parametric or greater.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience with human spaceflight.
  • Experience with composites.
  • Experience with AIAA S-080 and S-081.
  • Experience with EJMA Ninth and Tenth Edition.
