Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Chemistry

Classification Title: Postdoctoral Associate
A Postdoctoral Associate in Computational Chemistry is available for computational chemists to work in a project on the computational modeling and AI-driven discovery for materials and molecules led by Dr. Mingjie Liu in the Department of Chemistry. We have a position available in our group to work on computational study of polymer materials, electrocatalysts, batteries, and porous materials.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-throughput computational simulations using MLIP, DFT, TD-DFT, QM/MM, Kinetic Monte Carlo, and MD to study material and molecular properties.
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning and deep learning models to predict new materials and molecule properties.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design experiments and analyze data.
- Publish scientific papers and present findings at international conferences.
This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to one year.

Minimum Requirements: PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in molecular dynamics, machine learning, and deep learning applied to scientific problems.
Experience in computational chemistry, materials science, computational electrochemistry, or polymer science.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
