Job Summary:

The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate position in our Integrative Mechanobiology & Biophysics Laboratory (IMBL). As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will work on setting up two-photon fluorescent and lifetime imaging microscopes and training graduate students on imaging experimental skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in optical microscopy and image processing
  • Develop and implement new imaging techniques
  • Train graduate students on imaging experimental skills
  • Collaborate with other members of the IMBL team

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • Strong background in optics and standard lab bench operation
  • Experience with LabVIEW programming and mechano-electronic system development (desired)

About the Laboratory:

The IMBL at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering focuses on inventing new physical tools to probe biological function and structures. Our research projects are interdisciplinary, at the interface of mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology. We aim to train the next generation of scientists and apply our discoveries to developing innovative technologies and medicines to improve human health.
