Role Responsibilities

The Process Engineer is primarily tasked with diagnosing and resolving process control issues while maintaining comprehensive documentation for all process equipment. This role serves as a technical resource for all processing machinery and provides supervisory support as necessary.

  • Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing process challenges.
  • Conduct performance tests and monitor production processes.
  • Assist in equipment upgrades and retrofitting.
  • Guide product modifications and support start-up operations.
  • Assess and enhance production processes while training staff on these improvements.
  • Develop and uphold a technical training program, including troubleshooting protocols and process control.
  • Facilitate training for new hires and current employees, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Play a crucial role in fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement by supporting structured problem-solving initiatives such as Kaizens and A3's.
  • Provide direct engineering support, including documenting process enhancements, training operators, conducting process capability studies, and implementing safety improvements.
  • Evaluate technical and economic feasibility throughout the development stages.
  • Prepare capital estimates for new product and process initiatives.
  • Adhere to established OSHA, EPA, and safety regulations in all tasks.
  • Work Environment: This position involves spending approximately 80% of the time on the production floor of a manufacturing facility, which may expose the individual to moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of statistical process control, experimental design, and quality management systems.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies, with a proven track record of leading focused improvement teams.
  • Supervisory experience is essential, including directing work, coaching, and managing performance and development.
  • Ability to mentor and train individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments, with a focus on motivating and leading both new and existing employees.
