Summary
The Village Engagement Associate plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and members at the POA Lobby. This position is essential in providing first-rate member services and facilitating the sale of various member-related items such as Annual Cards and Vehicle Decals. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills, effective communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in computer systems, particularly Point of Sale (POS) systems, is necessary.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of community offerings and events to assist members and visitors effectively.
- Being vigilant for visitors needing physical assistance, ensuring their safe entry and exit.
- Issuing visitor passes and overseeing the sign-in process to restrict access to authorized guests only.
- Facilitating the sale of annual cards, decals, work passes, and amenity passes for members and local workers.
- Providing assistance to members and visitors via telephone or in-person inquiries.
- Utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently while keeping accurate member database records.
- Balancing daily transactions and maintaining the register drawer with precision.
- Completing necessary forms for new members or updating address records.
- Exhibiting regular attendance and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods, holidays, or weekends as required.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
Language Proficiency
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and standard procedures. Effective verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and employees.
Mathematical Skills
Competence in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using various units of measure.
Reasoning Skills
Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and address problems involving standard situations. Demonstrating professionalism and calmness in interactions with guests and team members is crucial.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to sit, use hands for various tasks, reach, and communicate effectively. Occasional standing and walking are necessary, along with the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The role involves regular interaction with the public, leading to both positive and challenging experiences.
