CT/Radiology Technologist Job Description

About the Role:

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled CT/Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a CT technologist, you will be responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT scans to aid in diagnosing medical conditions
  • Prepare and educate patients for CT exams
  • Assess patients' clinical history and adjust techniques accordingly
  • Research lab values and inject contrast materials as needed
  • Transfer results from the CT console to Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)
  • Observe patients and respond to any adverse reactions
  • Work with referring physicians to ensure accurate exams
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in the field
  • Transfer to other modalities as qualified and needed
  • Comply with Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements
  • Complete mandatory education and training
  • Maintain certification, licensure, and registration
  • Assist with Radiologic student program

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists
  • Current license by the State of Ohio as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of CT experience
  • Two years of diagnostic radiology experience for on-site training in CT scanning
