Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist performs complex and elaborate MRI procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure accurate and safe imaging results.

Responsibilities:

Prepares and explains exams to patients
Performs all exams related to MRI procedures
Maintains current knowledge of MRI procedures and safety protocols
Assists physicians during exams
Processes exams and makes them available on PACS

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI within 1 year of hire
West Virginia State Licensure as MRI Technologist or MRI Apprentice, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

ARRT Certification in Radiography

Work Environment:

The MRI Technologist works in a strong magnetic field and may be exposed to viruses, diseases, and infections from patients and specimens. They may also be exposed to traumatic situations, including psychiatric crises, physical injuries, and death.

Multi-tasking abilities

Physical Requirements:

The MRI Technologist must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry items up to 20 pounds.
