Consumer Lending Operations Specialist

The Loan Operations Specialist plays a vital role in the daily servicing and production of Consumer loan operations at Local Government Federal Credit Union. This position requires a forward-thinking individual who can assist with department projects, ensure adherence to financial institution policies and procedures, and contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily support for all aspects of servicing Consumer Loan products.
- Perform loan account maintenance, servicing, balancing, and reporting processes, including proficiency in GL reconciliation and transactions.
- Complete payment processing, data entry, collateral & financial ticklers, and file maintenance.
- Understand and code loans to report loans accurately in Call Report and other Credit Union reporting formats.
- Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and validating periodic loan reports and system output, and resolve/escalate issues as appropriate.
- Assist in ensuring system upgrades are installed and tested thoroughly in a timely fashion.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning lending by working with Legal and Compliance, attending internal and external training classes, and vendor workshops.
- Minimum 1 – 3 years of Consumer loan operations experience in all aspects of servicing and loan documentation preparation for consumer non-real estate and real estate.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment and mentor others.
- Ability to function in a business office environment and utilize standard office equipment, technology, and software.
- Experience with collateral perfection and servicing, regulations, and compliance.
- Experience with virtual/online banking environments for business members services.
- Technical experience with input to loan documentation and core Credit Union systems.
