Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and specialized procedures associated with the veterinary care of laboratory animals, including various species used in research studies.
- Triage clinical cases, participate in clinical rounds on active cases under the direction of a veterinarian, and administer and document appropriate clinical therapies.
- Maintain an inventory of veterinary supplies and equipment, including controlled drugs, and ensure compliance with USDA, OLAW, GLP, and AAALAC regulations.
- Assist with monthly billing of clinical and experimental procedures, participate in research studies, review study protocols, and perform specialized experimental procedures.
- Ensure timely delivery of samples to diagnostic laboratories as per study protocols.
- Participate in an occupational safety and health program, including tuberculin testing and potential immunizations.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays, with occasional overtime hours.
- Be designated as essential personnel during storms or natural disasters.
